This criticism from Jean Alesi about Hamilton sends shockwaves through Ferrari

Jean Alesi has strongly criticized Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari following the British driver’s recent comments after the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Things have seriously soured between Jean Alesi and Lewis Hamilton. The former Ferrari icon didn’t hold back after the race in Hungary. And his words are now casting doubt over Hamilton’s future with the Scuderia.

Jean Alesi hits back at Hamilton with a brutal comparison

During the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton called himself “useless and rubbish”. And then, he went on to suggest Ferrari should “find another driver.” But for Alesi, that kind of talk just doesn’t sit right.

In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Jean Alesi was scathing in his response to Hamilton. “Senna or Schumacher would never have said that,” he stated bluntly and criticized Hamilton for lacking a fighting spirit. According to Alesi, such an attitude only drains motivation from the team.

From Alesi’s perspective, having a fast Ferrari on Saturdays but invisible on Sundays is already frustrating. But having a team leader who’s openly defeatist? That’s downright dangerous for the team’s morale.

These comments come at a time when Ferrari is already under pressure. Charles Leclerc narrowly missed the podium in Hungary, despite taking pole. Hamilton, meanwhile, didn’t even make it to Q3. His public self-criticism has now raised even more questions about his true motivation.

Right now, the F1 paddock is split on Lewis Hamilton. Some, like Toto Wolff, continue to believe he can bounce back. Others, including Ralf Schumacher and Bernie Ecclestone, think it might be time for him to consider retirement. As for Jean Alesi, he’s clear: Ferrari doesn’t need a champion who voices doubts out loud, like Hamilton. What they need is a driver who energizes the team. And in Maranello, Alesi’s warning is echoing loud and clear.
