Formula 1 is a realm where innovation and tradition often intersect. Occasionally, a team chooses to honor its history in a spectacular fashion. That’s precisely what Red Bull appears to be planning for the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix. As a fan, I can’t help but feel excited about this prospect.
A Tribute to Honda for the Final Dance
Since 2019, Red Bull has closely collaborated with Honda, the Japanese automotive giant, as their engine supplier. This partnership has propelled the team to great heights, notably with Max Verstappen’s successes. However, 2025 marks the end of this collaboration, with Honda set to supply engines to Aston Martin from 2026 onwards. To commemorate their final race together on Japanese soil, Red Bull is considering revisiting an iconic livery.
The Return of the White Livery: A Nod to the Past
Recall the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix, where Red Bull sported a white livery in tribute to Japan, following the cancellation of that year’s Japanese Grand Prix. This fan-favorite livery might make a grand return at Suzuka. Hints? The team’s social media profiles have adopted white and red colors with the team’s name in Japanese. Additionally, Max Verstappen has unveiled a white and red helmet featuring Japanese inscriptions for the occasion. Coincidence? I think not.

Yuki Tsunoda: A Promotion at the Right Time
This Grand Prix will also be special for Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver, recently promoted alongside Verstappen, will have the opportunity to shine in front of his home crowd. A special livery, a home race, and a chance to prove his worth in the main team: all the ingredients are there for a memorable weekend. And honestly, I’m eager to see how he’ll handle this added pressure.
What do you think about this potential return of Red Bull’s white livery for the Japanese Grand Prix? Is it a fitting tribute to Honda or merely a marketing move? Share your thoughts in the comments!
