Miami’s pre-race tradition just got a serious upgrade — or should we say, a build-up? This weekend, instead of the usual flatbed truck, F1 drivers paraded the Miami track in full-sized, driveable LEGO cars. The result? Pure joy, amazing visuals, and a whole new way to connect fans with the sport.

Yes, they’re real – and they move
Each LEGO car was built from nearly 400,000 bricks, weighed 1,000kg, and could drive up to 20kph. They replicated each team’s livery in full detail — from sponsor logos to Pirelli tires — all based on the LEGO F1 Speed Champions series.
Designed and assembled in LEGO’s Kladno facility in the Czech Republic, these cars took 22,000 hours and 26 experts to complete.
A colourful lap to remember
Drivers took a full lap of Miami’s 5.4km circuit in these block-built machines, waving to fans along the way. It was a brilliantly playful twist that added charm and accessibility to the GP experience — especially for younger fans.
Emily Prazer of F1 summed it up perfectly:
“Our LEGO partnership brings fun to the race experience and helps reach new audiences.”
