The Turkish Grand Prix has now been cancelled, Formula One has confirmed.
Istanbul Circuit was recently announced as the replacement for the cancelled Canadian Grand Prix, after Canadian health authorities deemed the race too much of a risk due to Covid-19 restrictions. However, Turkey was placed on the “red list” in the UK, meaning that there are strict travel restrictions involving quarantine to and from the country. It seems the situation has now got worse, forcing Formula One to cancel the race altogether.
As a result, the French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard will move to the weekend of 18th-20th June, with Austria hosting a double header on the weekends of 25th-27th June and 2nd-4th July.
