Tsolov completed his rookie season of Formula 3 with ART last year, when he finished 22nd overall with six points to his name. It was a slow year of learning for Tsolov, who was often hovering near the points positions but only managing to finish within them twice (both occurrences in the final two rounds).

Now, starting his second season with the team in Formula 3, Tsolov is ready to keep making progress at a team that he feels comfortable with.

“I feel very much at home at ART Grand Prix, which is one of the greatest teams ever,” Tsolov said on his signing. “So it’s a pleasure to continue with them for a second year in F3.

“I know the team, the circuits, the procedures and, apart from the tyres, I won’t have to learn anything new. Winter testing showed that we were consistently at the top of the timesheets, and the main target will be to be at the front at every race weekend.”

Team Principal Sebastien Philippe commented: “Niko has had to take a giant step forward coming from Spanish F4 and, despite the difficulties faced by the team in 2023, his determination and focus have only strengthened.

“The raw results haven’t been there, but we’ve seen Niko’s formidable talent grow throughout the season and the entire team is looking forward to getting off to a good start in 2024 so we can deliver results together in line with our ambitions and our work.”

2024 grid is complete

As of today, all thirty drivers have been confirmed for the 2024 Formula 3 season. Over half the new grid is made up of rookie drivers, with 16 of them never having raced in any Formula 3 event before.

Campos Racing is the only team without any rookie drivers, with Oliver Goethe, Sebastian Montoya, and Mari Boya lining up for them. Meanwhile, MP Motorsport’s team is only rookies (Jenzer Motorsport also has all rookies, but only if you count Max Esterton, who competed in two rounds of the 2023 season).

2024 looks like it will be another season of old vs. new, with experienced drivers like Dino Beganovic and Gabriele Mini going up against new young drivers who have proven themselves in series further down the ladder.

In just a few weekends now the season kicks off in Bahrain, but pre-season testing for the Formula 3 drivers will start tomorrow.
