Ferrari will bring its final 2024 upgrade to the Circuit of the Americas.
Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur has revealed that his team will introduce a minor upgrade package to the next round in Austin. The Frenchman also confirmed that it would be the Maranello team’s last upgrade to its SF-24.
The Scuderia have had a mixed reaction from its SF-24 responding to upgrades applied to the car. The Maranello team introduced a big floor upgrade in Spain. However, the upgrade led to bouncing problems at high-speeds and also making both drivers uncomfrtable with oversteer.
The disappointment in the upgrade even led to the team reverting to the old spec at the British Grand Prix. However, the team was confident that they could resolve the isue as the floor had more potential with more downforce points.
The Scuderia were able to resolve the bouncing issue at the Hungarian Grand Prix – looking competitive at the front ever since.
Prioirty switches to 2025 challenger
With their only being six rounds left of the 2024 season, Vasseur believes it is now more important to switch focus to its 2025 challenger for the final season of the regulations. The Frenchman confirmed that the SF-24 will have its last upgrades in Austin, saying:
“We all know that we already started the development of the next car, and we try to do our best to have small upgrades at the next one [race].”
“I think it will be probably the last one for everybody; that will be true for us, but it will be true for the other teams.
“Now it’s so tight overall in the last four or five, six races, if you have a look on the grid, it may get tight and every single bit can make a difference.”

Ferrari experienced disappointment at last weekend’s Singapore Grand Prix. The Scuderia had a messy qualifying, qualifying ninth and 10th on the grid, leading to not maximising the SF-24’s race pace in the race.
Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso believed Ferrari had the pace to win around the Marina Bay Circuit, especially after looking quick on Friday. However, Leclerc finished fourth, whilst Sainz finished down in seventh.
It was a missed opportunity for the Scuderia as the team are still in the constructors’ championship fight. The Italian team are 75 points adrift from McLaren at the top
