Latest Episode | Cut To The Race Podcast

Arthur Leclerc tops the timings as F3 testing in Jerez wraps up after two days on track.

After topping the timing sheets in Day 1‘s morning session Leclerc tops both Day 2 sessions.

Morning Session:

After starting the day on wet tyres, the track condition soon improved for slicks to be fitted.

Moving into Day 2, Leclerc topped the times with a 1:30.628. He was closely followed by Carlin’s Rookie Zak O’Sullivan, who missed out on the top spot by only three thousandths of a second. Setting a time of 1:30.634. MP Motorsport’s Caio Collet completed the top three setting a time of 1:30.653.

Carlin driver Enzo Trulli spent the most time on track completing 53 laps during the disrupted morning session.

The session saw the red flags brought out three times; twice by Jenzer Motorsport’s Ido Cohen and a third by teammate Federico Malvestiti.

Afternoon Session:

The afternoon session saw much dryer and warmer conditions, allowing the teams to make up time on the slicks after yesterday’s predominately wet running.

Leclerc once again dominated the afternoon session taking the top spot with a 1:29.366.

The Monegasque driver was closely followed by ART Grand Prix’s Victor Martins, who secured P2 with a 1:29.380. The two drivers were separated by only fourteen thousandths of a second.

The gap further increases moving into P3, which is claimed by Sprint Race winner Isack Hadjar with a 1:29.611. Franco Colapinto narrowly missed out placing P4 – only three thousandths of a second behind Hadjar.

VAR driver Reece Ushijima set the most laps of the afternoon session with 65 laps. The session came to an early finish after ART’s Juan Manuel Correa brought out the second red flag of the afternoon stopping at Turn 6. The earlier red flag was caused by Campos driver Hunter Yeany.

Proving a very close field the Top 15 all set times within a second of each other. The fastest ten times of the day are as follows:
