Rodin Motorsport, formerly Carlin, has announced Joseph Loake as their second Formula 3 driver for 2024.
18 year-old Loake joins Callum Voisin on the Rodin Motorsport roster for the 2024 season. Voisin was the 2023 GB3 champion, and Loake finished third in the same championship with four race wins to his name.
Loake was also the recipient of the 2023 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year award.
“I’m so pleased to be moving to the FIA F3 Championship for the upcoming season,” said Loake. “To have been given the incredible opportunity to race in such a fantastic championship with Rodin Motorsport is something I could have only dreamed of a few months ago, so I cannot wait to get cracking and make the most of it.”
Rodin Motorsport’s F3 Team Manager Sam Waple commented, “Joseph is a driver who has already done great things in his short career,” said Waple. “He’s adapted well to every car he’s ever driven and I’m really looking forward to seeing what he can do behind the wheel of the F3 car.
“While it’s going to, no doubt, be a big challenge for him I have confidence that he will work well with the team and put everything into the upcoming year. I can’t wait to start working together.”
Team rebrand
New Zealand based Rodin Cars formally joined Carlin in 2023, as the team became Rodin Carlin. Now, the company has fully taken over, and the racing team formerly known as Carlin is now Rodin Motorsport.
On the news, Rodin Motorsport director David Dicker said, “I am thrilled to lead Rodin Motorsport in this new era of our racing history.
“The team have a tremendous racing pedigree which we will continue to build upon moving forward. The 2024 season is once again going to be an exciting year for everyone at Rodin Motorsport and I for one can’t wait to get back on track where we belong.
“Our core values remain the same and we continue to strive to be the leading junior motorsport team. Our commitment to the drivers, championships and staff remains unwavering; we are here to race, develop drivers and keep winning.”
With Voisin and Loake now signed, the team only needs one more driver to complete their 2024 Formula 3 lineup. The season kicks off at the beginning of March in Bahrain.
