Oliver Bearman the latest rookie to join PREMA alongside the prestige Ferrari Driver Academy.
The British driver completes the PREMA line up for Formula 3 2022 joining returnees Arthur Leclerc and Jak Crawford.
The sixteen year-old driver holds quite the reputation in both single-seaters and karting.
Early Years
Bearman’s journey into Motorsport began in 2013 at 8 years old when he competed in club level British karting. Within his first year, he had finished top 5 in the British Karting GP.
Moving a year further he placed 4th in the British National Cadet Championship.
Bearman stayed in this category, winning the Kartmasters British Grand Prix as well as being runner up in the cadet class up until 2018 when he moved on from Cadets through to X30 Junior Karting. He proved very dominant in the International X30 Junior Class, picking up the Winter Cup in Valencia. Moving from this he went on to win the European Series as well as the World Series.
Single Seater Success
2020 saw Bearman make the transition to single-seaters with US Racing. Here he began competing in the ADAC German FIA F4 where he placed 7th and Italian FIA F4 where he placed 14th. On his debut he gained a front-row start setting him up for an exciting career.
Moving forwards to 2021 Bearman made the move to Van Amersfoot Racing where once again he competed in both the ADAC German FIA F4 and the Italian FIA F4, winning both championships respectively. This crowned Bearman the first driver to win both titles. He also competed and won a round of GB3 with Fortec Motorsport.
Due to his successes he was put forwards to compete in the Ferrari Driver Academy Scouting Academy where he impressed. By the end of 2021 Bearman had secured himself a place with the Ferrari Driver Academy. This also came with a seat at PREMA placing him alongside fellow FDA member Arthur Leclerc and Red Bull Junior Jak Crawford.
2022 Racing
As 2022 began Bearman jetted off to compete in the final two rounds of the FIA Formula Regional Asian Championship where he placed 15th. He spent time learning from fellow FDA members Arthur Leclerc and Dino Beganovic with th Mumbai Falcons who had the support of PREMA.
Moving on to the first round of the FIA Formula 3 championship in Bahrain Bearman had a strong weekend placing 2nd in the Sprint Race after gaining a 5 second penalty for impeding track limits. He finished the Feature Race in 6th maintaining a strong hold on the points.
Currently he is 3rd in the Driver Standings with 17 points after the first round.
