Jamie Chadwick did it again! The Brit conquered yet another pole position in W Series, followed by Emma Kimilainen and Abbi Pulling. Alice Powell at last only qualified fifth.

The first attempt saw Puma driver Emma Kimilainen take the top of the timing sheets followed by teammate Tereza Babickova. The Finn’s time was, however, deleted due to track limits at turns 9 and 15. Home hero Jamie Chadwick’s time was also deleted due to time limits.

The 2-times W Series Champion was quick to go back to the top with a purple third sector after Alice Powell’s lap time was removed once again due to track limits. Chadwick then proceeded to get better in 1:57.725.

Another Brit who impressed was Abbie Eaton, who looked fully recovered from her back injury and imposed herself at the front of the grid. Another driver looking to come back is CortDAO driver Fabienne Wohlwend after the disappointment and bad luck from Silverstone in 2021 when she was set for a brilliant victory before the safety car. The CortDAO drivers, despite an initial lack of brilliance, were eventually able to move up the grid.

The weekend seemed to start with some difficulties for Abbi Pulling, who received a black and white flag for track limits and didn’t even set a time for half of the 30 minutes given. Yet, when the time was set, Pulling immediately jumped to the front of the grid.

A three-way battle for pole?

Drama with track limits continued as Alice Powell’s time that would’ve put her in provisional pole position was cancelled due to track limits at Copse. Powell’s teammate Jessica Hawkins on her side was able to complete her competitiveness and qualified.

At the front, the challenge between Kimilainen, Chadwick, and Powell was lit with the Finn continuing to get better. Chadwick, however, didn’t give up and conquered a 1:56.758. Finally, Beitske Visser surprised by placing her car in fourth at the last attempt.

The final qualifying results are as follows:
