5 F1’s storylines to look forward to after the summer break

Formula 1 already provided plenty of entertainment in 2021. Still, the second half of the season is ready to lit up the competition even more. Every overtakes, every mistake, every strategy will be crucial in determining the Championships’ Standings and the future of drivers and teams.

Hence, after having made some considerations on the first half of the season, it is now time to anticipate the main points of interest for the remaining races.

5. Alpha Tauri’s Redemption

The first half of the season wasn’t ideal for Faenza. Overall, Alpha Tauri conquered fewer points than it could due to some bad luck and the second half of the season provides good opportunities for redemption. Yuki Tsunoda’s debut in F1 wasn’t as exciting as anticipated and the Japanese driver will need to find some coolness and start being more consistent in the points. Pierre Gasly, whose start of the season was particularly unlucky, will want to prove once again his solidity and talent, especially as the Frenchman will be looking to be one of the hottest names of the silly season.

4. Mercedes: future or comfort?

Talking about the driver market, Mercedes’ decision regarding Valtteri Bottas’ future in F1 has been long-awaited and time is running out. Toto Wolff must take a call that might change Brackley’s future. The aspiring youngster or the solid and comfortable driver? Whatever the answer will be, fans are eager to learn what the impact on the rest of the season will be.

3. Ferrari vs McLaren

Ferrari vs McLaren is a never-ending challenge. Two of the most historic and iconic F1 teams are finally back to challenging for the same positions. The Reds and Papayas are currently tied in the Constructors’ Standings and both with more to come. McLaren will hope in Daniel Ricciardo’s come back to fight equally while Ferrari announced important engine updates after Monza. All drivers will need to take any possible chance and be careful in staying out of trouble to determine who will be the best of the rest.

2. Red Bull’s silly season

Red Bull is currently in one of its best seasons in F1 since 2013. Yet, the drivers’ future remains uncertain. Except for Verstappen, who is signed with Red Bull until 2023, Perez, Gasly, and Tsunoda are still in question. According to some rumors, Dr. Helmut Marko is not happy with Perez and Tsunoda and is looking around for a solution. Pierre Gasly is currently confirmed in a Red Bull’s linked team until at least 2022 and the Frenchman expressed the wish to come back to the top team but Marko might have another idea…

1. Lewis vs Max

The last point is the most obvious and yet the more exciting. The fight between Verstappen and Hamilton is now a proper and total war. The pair already proved not to be interested in leaving any opportunity untaken. The scenery is set for a duel between two of the most genuine talents motorsport has seen in recent years. Every tyre choice, every lap, every corner will be against each other and every mistake might determine who will be the 2021 F1 World Champion and F1 fans cannot wait for it.
